Rose then became a supervisor of one of two kitchens at the Lapeer State Home and Training School. She retired from this job after 35 years.
Rose and her husband, Harry, were separated for many years. They never did get a divorce. Unfortunately, the separation left Rose feeling humiliated and depressed.
