...received his early education in the district school, and continued with his parents until reaching his majority. He selected a wife from among the maidens of his own township, being married on the 5th of March, 1856 to Miss Mary A., daughter of Robert and Mary L. (Biddle) Richart, natives of Pennsylvania and of Scotch ancestry.

The maternal grandparents [of Mrs. Liddel], Israel and Martha (Lowry) Biddle, were also natives of Pennsylvania, and spent most of their lives in Montour County; they also were Presbyterians.

...Mr Liddel takes a warm interest in the success of the temperance movement, and politically, has identified himself with the Prohibitionists."

Thomas Liddel Obituary: "Died March 11, 1896, Thomas Liddle(sic). Although Mr. Liddle had not been well for several days, still his death was a shock and a loss to the community where he has been for years a loved and respected citizen. A wife and three daughters mourn his loss."

Thomas married Mary Ann Richart, daughter of Robert Richart and Mary Lowery Biddle, on 5 Mar 1856 in Lenawee County, Michigan. (Mary Ann Richart was born on 30 Aug 1829 in Pennsylvania, died on 6 May 1898 and was buried in Macon Cemetery, Macon, Lenawee County, Michigan.)
