bullet  General Notes:

Rose May Gezley was from Sandusky, Ohio. She and Harry James Coller met in Flint, Michigan, while each was visiting the city.

In her early married days, Rose and her husband Harry were rural mail carriers. Harry was promoted by the U.S. Postal Service to Lapeer. He moved the family off the Sanilac farm about 1938. Rose then became a supervisor of one of two kitchens at the Lapeer State Home and Training School. She retired from this job after 35 years.

Harry left Rose and they were separated for many years. They never did get a divorce. Unfortunately, the separation took an emotional and financial toll on Rose.

After Harry left, Rose was having trouble making ends meet so she divided the house which then became 607 and 609 Jefferson St. She lived in 609 and John Wesley Coller and his family lived in 607. When Rose got older, she moved into 607 because it had a bedroom on the first floor.

Rose died at her home at 607 Jefferson St., Lapeer, Michigan.
