John married Mary Ellora Liddel, daughter of Thomas A. Liddel and Mary Ann Richart, on 17 Mar 1909. (Mary Ellora Liddel was born on 25 Jul 1860 in Saline, Washtenaw County, Michigan, died on 29 Dec 1935 in Chelsea, Washtenaw County, Michigan and was buried in Macon Cemetery, Macon, Lenawee County, Michigan.)
