Marseilles Riopelle, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008. He was born August 8, 1924.
Mr. Riopelle served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lila; children, Marcy Riopelle, Janine (Carl) Baird and Tami (Dan) Wertz; brother, Jack Riopelle; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Mars C. Riopelle.
A private family service will be held.
Arrangements were directed by Gramer Funeral Home Diener Chapel, 48271 Van Dyke (south of 22 Mile Road), Shelby Township.
In WWII Mars served in the U.S. Army, enlisting on October 2, 1943, and discharged on April 20, 1946. He served as an artillery spotter fighting his way into Germany. He returned home via France.
Marseilles married Lila Mae Makima, daughter of Enoch Erhardt Makima and Sisko Eliina Hokkanen, on 11 Oct 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. (Lila Mae Makima was born on 5 Sep 1927 in Detroit, Michigan and died on 6 Jan 2017 in Shelby Township, Michigan.)
