Jahvetti Hokkanen, Jr. and his wife, Miina, had three sons - Karl, Armas, and Ernest. Jahvetti died accidentally when he was run over by the CM & St. Paul railroad train near the Green depot. Son Ernest, living in Green, is the only surviving immediate member of this family.
From "Green, Michigan and the Kaukas Connection" by Douglas D. Karttunen. Jaffet Hokkanen, who worked at the Kaukas spool mill in the Lappee area of Finland, left for Hancock, Michigan on December 2, 1903. Jaffet was the older brother of Nick Hokkanen who had come two years earlier.
Jaffett Hokkanen immigrated from Finland in 1903. His wife Miina and sons Karl Wiljam and Armas Viktor left Finland to join him on June 26, 1909. 27
