Clinton married Virginia L. Kirocofe, daughter of Nelson Bittle Kirocofe and Caroline Virginia Cloakley, in 1884.¹³² (Virginia L. Kirocofe was born on 16 May 1864 in Virginia,¹³⁶ died on 21 May 1943 and was buried in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Hinton, Virginia.)
