General Notes:
Notes from "Hinton History", by George Washington Hinton:
David Hinton served in the American Revolution. He took an oath of allegiance in Henry County, Virginia, in 1777.
David Hinton drowned in the Ohio River in route to Kentucky. His widow married Major William Chenoweth (this line is supported by research from Henry Chaney, St. Marys, Kansas 66536; and by Mrs. Oneta B. Howard, 636 17th Street; Richmond, California 94801; and by Mrs. John H. Bissell, 112 N. Shamrock Drive West; Yakima, Washington 98902.) [Robert Allan Hinton has written to all three of these references during 1999-2000; he has not received a reply from any of the three!]
