Henry Coble, Sr. was born in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, May 19, 1798. He came to Ohio with his father at an early date and settled in Wayne County, near Wooster, where he married Anna Marie Horner in 1824.
In 1823, he moved to Ashland county and settled in Lake Township where he engaged in farming. He was a Republican and a member of the Presbyterian church.
He is buried in the St. Johns German Lutheran Cemetery, state route 179, Lake Township, Ashland County, near McZena, Ohio.
Johan married Anna Marie Horner, daughter of John Horner and Magdalena, on 1 May 1824. (Anna Marie Horner was born on 17 Jul 1804 in Frederick County, Maryland, died on 28 Feb 1880 in Ashland County, Ohio and was buried in Saint John Cemetery, McZena, Ashland County, Ohio.)
