Donald Hicks and his family lived in San Mateo, California. The following is from the Cass City Chronicle - Friday, January 14, 1955.

Mrs. Archie Hicks left Wednesday for California where she will spend the winter with her son, Donald, and his family of San Mateo and with her sister, Miss Ethel Coller, of San Francisco.
