General Notes: Thomas J. Miller and Wheeler G. Miller had a real estate office in Ohio known as Miller Bros. Real Estate. The business was started after Wheeler G. Miller taught for 23 years in Putnam County, Ohio. Noted events in his life were: 1. Residence, 1880, Liberty Township, Putnam County, Ohio. 64 2. Occupation: farmer, 1880. 64 3. Residence, 1910, Belle Center, Logan County, Ohio. From a letter written by Lydia J. McConnell. 4. Land. Miller Brothers Real Estate actively purchased land in Michigan. According to 1906 plat maps, Thomas owned a total of 520 acres in sections 14, 25 and 26 of Lamotte Township, Sanilac County, Michigan. John Harvey Miller moved to this area from Ohio where he purchased 120 acres in section 26. This plat map shows the location of the Miller land. Thomas married Lydia Jane McConnell, daughter of Isaac McConnell and Mary J. Lowry, on 21 May 1868 in Putnam County, Ohio. (Lydia Jane McConnell was born on 27 Feb 1845 in Liberty Township, Putnam County, Ohio.) |
