30 July 1960 Newspaper article in Battle Creek, Michigan: Ex-Albion Man Is Electrocuted ALBION - William G. Nixon, 35, Walled Lake funeral director, and brother of Mrs. William (Isabelle) Helrigel of Albion, was electrocuted in the back yard of his home yesterday afternoon. Mr. Nixon was pronounced dead at a Pontiac hospital after receiving a shock from an electric drill he was using while working on a metal picnic table. He formerly had been an electrician by trade. Mr. Nixon was a former Albion resident and attended Albion Hich School. His father, the late Rev. Lloyd Nixon, lived in Albion six years while serving as superintendent of the Albion-Lansing disctrict of the Methodist Church, prior to his death in 1952 The Rev. Mr. Nixon previously had served as pastor of the First Methodist Church of Battle Creek, where the family lived from 1933 until 1938. William G. Nixon is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Atkinson of Pontiac; three daughters, the oldest of whom is eight; another sister, Mrs. Donald Porritt of Pontiac, and a brother, the Rev. James D. Nixon of Grosse Pointe.
